I almost feel like I should start with a brief history of my life. As if you were watching a movie and there was a need to introduce all the characters. The music would shift and sway in accordance to the ambiance of each addition to the cast. Through one or two scenes you would be able to identify, exactly, each person's moral code and ultimately decide who is the bad guy and who needs our support and sympathy. You would be able to pick sides and even begin to imagine how you want the whole movie to turn out. Oh, how much we depend upon the director to lead us down a plain path of understanding so we can make the right decisions that will effect our judgment of the movie.
Unfortunately, there is no director here.
Welcome to Jasper's Hole!
Are we not unbelievably pathetic. Maybe I should not be so quick to assume that you are but I know for sure that I am. Meaning I am so quick to identify the villains and put my trust in the heroes here in this unscripted play of "King Jimmy". This world seems to truly revolve around me. Matter of fact I have even thought a time or two that I am a meaningful person and that every single person on the street is there to appease me. Rightfully so, I am quite unique. And you know the vain opinion of myself leads to my quick opinion of others. I have been given a gift of discernment. With in just a few moments I am able to know exactly what type of person you are. My intuition is off the charts. And I have never been wrong.
Well... maybe once. Oh wait..., you know I am best friends with David and I thought he was a dork at first. Oh my... I did not even like my own girlfriend at first, I thought she was snobby.
Wow, I feel like I am at the Kentucky Derby. Some strange voice just came over the loud speakers saying, "AND THEIR OFF..." I assumed the voice meant the horses but as I look at the track all I see are bad decisions, people I labeled wrongly, terrible judgment calls, and even a little monkey. (that is strange I really hate monkeys) But let me tell you the track is full. Matter of fact there is not even a race because there is no room to run.
Well to be honest I am sure my gift of discernment has at least a 60% degree of accuracy. And I have learned from the previous miscalls. So that should increase my percentage. And as I continue to learn from those mistakes that will only increase my average and eventually I will be right back at perfection. Right?
I am truly pathetic and since I am so great a judging people, I assume you are pathetic too. You know maybe we should just leave the judging to the One that is perfect. And someday when He finishes this work in us and we are made perfect in Him, then we can turn around and judge His decisions and learn that His Kentucky Derby is empty.
